Retirement Life at the Lakehouse

I retired June 2009 and I have spent much more time at The Lakehouse. I have enjoyed each and every day and have not had a bored moment. I stay so busy doing things I want to do that I rarely find myself idle. I guess with the major remodeling complete there has not been as much to post. This is a new phase of life at The Lakehouse and maybe I can post retirement memories.

1993 HIGHLIGHTS!

When we cleaned up from Christmas we mopped the kitchen floor and some how we accidentally turned the water on that had been run to a washer and flooded the house. We did not find this until a week later when Mom and Dad went to check on the place for us. So we had to replace all the floors. So more to do before we could rent out again. By the time we got this all took care of it was SPRING! Now How can we rent the place with new carpet? It's so close to summer, maybe we can wait until after summer and then rent THE LAKEHOUSE. We cleaned the yard, planted flowers, stacked rock, we even found a good deal on a pontoon boat and fixed the old swim dock up. We had furniture and kitchen items donated from family and friends. So we had our 1st summer at THE LAKEHOUSE. We decided to just wait and see, since we had managed to make 1 year without getting in a bind over THE LAKEHOUSE not being rented. The best I can remember we never even discussed renting THE LAKEHOUSE again. OH! We did rent it to Rhonda a few months when her house burned, but that was just the off season and very short term.

We installed a park bench donated by Randy I think.

This where we bult the Big Deck between all them pine trees.

The water is so clear and the rocks never move.

The circle drive, maybe someday it will be concrete.

The old swim dock that we repaired for a boat dock..

We stacked rocks to hold the dirt while we were cleaning the swimming area. Someday we hope to have a rock wall here that joins Mr. Smith's.

Love my azaleas in from of the big windows.

the flower bed by the kitchen door.

Notice the blue carpet that we replaced the old carpet with.... kinda nice to have a new floor.

Added some picnic tables.

Rusty just taking in the view.

Mom gets to relax now that she is a visitor. LOL.

No life jackets required in this pool.

Our 1st pontoon, was so nice to be able to get out and see the rest of the lake. This one was slow but it always got us there and back. It would hold our crew.
Brandon had a Birthday.

Ali's 1st visit to THE LAKEHOUSE.

We tried the skiing !!! Had been a long time.
