Retirement Life at the Lakehouse

I retired June 2009 and I have spent much more time at The Lakehouse. I have enjoyed each and every day and have not had a bored moment. I stay so busy doing things I want to do that I rarely find myself idle. I guess with the major remodeling complete there has not been as much to post. This is a new phase of life at The Lakehouse and maybe I can post retirement memories.

3rd week of March

This week started in Bama, but I had to go back to Mississippi for work and our outage, which means working many hours and doing nuttin else, lol.

On Sunday morning I again cooked beautiful biscuits and this time I used the stove top and made gravy. All of which I should not be eating, but I did then I took a few pictures before I got my stuff all loaded to go back to ugh Mississippi and work.

Now don't you agree this biscuit is perfect?

It was looking like a beautiful day and fishermen were out and I sure wanted to just sit on the deck and watch the scenery. It is gonna be very nice to be able to watch spring arive when I live on the lake. I settled to just walk around the yard and decks and just take a good look and what I was fixin to leave.

I saw the 1st white iris of spring had bloomed.

The water had risen over the rocks and just waiting for the spring rain to come on up over the pier.

I looked at the jet ski's and pontoon and thought... next time I visit it will be fit weather for a ride on something. I noticed the azaleas are getting ready to bloom in about 2 weeks I think and once again I will miss them.

I had a nice drive home, traffic was busy and fast. Seemed to be more traffic than normal, I guess the spring breaks created that. I sit here pondering my blog now and wondering if I should have 2 blogs, lol one that tells all the boring stuff I do or don't do in Mississippi and then this one. When I got home I found there is indeed a lawnmower fairy....my yard had been mowed.... I am not sure but I am thinking our neighbor had her yard mowed and mine, tooo. Nice of her huh.

The work week has gone fast, been kinda boring to just work, eat and sleep, lol. I get home about 8:oo pm and I am in bed by 9:30 and up again at 5:00 am. and just think on my 1 off day I can do laundry and all the house chores and the grocery shopping for another 6 days of work, lol. I have this motto for my off days, "IF it don't get done by noon, it just don't get done." That is because after noon is truly a Sandra day, otherwise I would never have time to do things I want. I kinda like some of my motto's, another is "I will do some of the the things I HAVE TO, some I NEED TO and some I WANT TO." thats because I usually have more of each category than possible to do. I do try to distribute evenly between them, lol. The real trick comes in when I only have one off day and I sleep in and then follow my motto's, lol. I have not watched any movies this week or read any in a book. I have not sewed any nor have I worked on a quilt. I have not worked on a puzzle or done any computer project stuff. I did water my plants. I did gather some stuff to file my taxes which is one of the I NEED TO'S on my off day and If I am not careful will become a HAVE TO.

I did have a pleasant online surprise this week. Brooke messaged me one night when I got home on messnger and I also had an offline message from Tanner. I thought cool... I guess Tanner had messaged Brooke too cause she was trying to get him back and I called him and told him Brooke wa there and my next message was ..."Sorry Mamaw I got to go, Tanner is here now." It is cool to chat with them. Tanner is being so considerate tooo, he is always asking me if I am watching a movie, like maybe his Mom has said don't pester Mamaw, lol. I hope to do that some more.

I have been trying to decide what I like BEST about my new kitchen appliances.

I like the can drink holder and the 2 ltr holder as well.

The refrigerator I like the ability to get my big mug under the ice dispenser.

I like the drawer with the garbage cans 1 for cans and 1 for paper.
I guess I used those items the most so far, lol. I know this summer I will still need that big can for THE LAKEHOUSE GANG.

I like the soap dispencer on the sink, always hated that bottle on the sink, no matter what color dish wash stuff it had in it, lol. I have bout beat the soap dispenser to death trying to use it to turn off the water.... OLD habits are hard to break.

I guess that is about it for this week, sad huh. I do have the 1st week of the outage behind me and tomorrow is my off day. Do keep coming back to see what I am up to, as I have some things in mind that I think will interest you, especially with summer coming soon. I have had a request for a BON FIRE at THE LAKEHOUSE. Are there any other request? I will be posting my summer plan as far as vacation times, but basically I will be at THE LAKEHOUSE most of June except for the week of training I have to attend. I will be leaving the Lake on about the 6th of July to go to Oklahoma for the KEESEE Reunion with no definate plans on when I will be back. I have my LAST 2 yr requal exam the 1st week in August and I had a tough time getting past the one I took 2 yrs ago, so that will be my focus after vacation. It will just be for a quick weekend if I get back before Labor Day.:( (so so so sad)
