Retirement Life at the Lakehouse

I retired June 2009 and I have spent much more time at The Lakehouse. I have enjoyed each and every day and have not had a bored moment. I stay so busy doing things I want to do that I rarely find myself idle. I guess with the major remodeling complete there has not been as much to post. This is a new phase of life at The Lakehouse and maybe I can post retirement memories.

Wednesday, June 6th

We all managed to sleep in til around 9:00, well excelt for Kyle and Pat who got up at 5 to go to work. Kyle had to be tired... he was up til 2 a.m. I baked blueberry muffins and cheese toast for the gang for breakfast. We all cleaned up our beds and went out for a sunny relaxing swim. I did not get many pictures today but did get the kids all jumping some. Tracy, Chris and I had a nice visit as we floated and sunned. We are all pretty much red tonight.

We had spaghetti for lunch and Susan came to get Chloe and Hannah. Once again she was in time to eat, lol. After lunch we all kinda napped and watched movies waiting on Kyle and Papaw to return. We got the white jet ski out of the shop this afternoon, but by the time Pat got it cleaned up and in the lake there was only time for Pat and Kyle to check it out good. Chris and the other kids are really into the late evening water football. Tonight we had a mixture of things for supper including, spaghetti, pizza rolls, beef stew, bread and salad. The plan is to later bake cookies.

Below are the cool pictures of the day!!!!!

Then Blake made the chocolate chip cookies for the movie watching tonight.

Tuesday, June 5th

Tuesday started out earlier than I wanted. Kyle and Josh got up to go to work early. They shared the left over chocolate and biscuits. I cooked pancakes for breakfast, which went over very well. I am REALLY enjoying my new kitchen. Susan arrived around 10 with Chloe and her friend Haley. We decided to get in a boat ride while waiting for Tracy to get here. I wanted to go to Clear Creek and see the lake lots of Hidden Falls from the lake side. That made a very nice trip.

There is a shark rock there as well as one at the crappie hole.
Tracy drives faster than I thought or maybe we were later leaving than I thought... anyway I thought we had plenty of time and I was wrong Tracy was locked out and had to just sit and wait on us for around 30 minutes. I felt bad ....but she had a nice view and it was quiet.

The kids played all afternoon in the lake.... We did have one minor injury ... Chloe scraped her head and shoulder on the rocks when getting too close with the float and falling off or swimming under , etc. So we moved the float to deeper water. It did get busted before the day was over.. hopefully Pat can patch it. The guys played more football in the water.

Pat cooked some fine fish with his new cooker I gave him early for Fathers Day. BTW just so he could fry fish for Tracy.

Susan did the baked beans and Mom made cole slaw and hushpuppies.

Tracy doing a taste test.

After we all ate we just visited and watched the kids play in the lake.

The girls spent the night.
Tracy had rented movies.
Chloe and Tyler baked brownies for the crew.

I woke at 1 A.M. and this gang is doing basically the same as 1 in the afternoon.....Tyler was on the computer, Blake was watching a movie, Tracy was reading a book, Kyle and the girls just chatting.. Well actually Hannah was on the computer until I took over, lol. Tanner and Brooke were asleep and Chris, who we all voted got the bedroom, was asleep as well.
