Retirement Life at the Lakehouse

I retired June 2009 and I have spent much more time at The Lakehouse. I have enjoyed each and every day and have not had a bored moment. I stay so busy doing things I want to do that I rarely find myself idle. I guess with the major remodeling complete there has not been as much to post. This is a new phase of life at The Lakehouse and maybe I can post retirement memories.

End of March

I had a very nice day off on Sunday. I tried to sleep in but just could not go back to sleep after 6:00 am. I tossed and turned and gave up about 8:30. I cooked me breakfast and started my chores. I had planned to go to the grocery store, but decided heck I can wait another week. I watched a couple movies and sorted thru stuff for Tax informmation. I had an unexpected visit from Chris, Kyle and Blake. They brought Pat's boat home. They all looked good and we had a nice visit, talked about our Easter plans and summer plans a bit. I even got a chance to show them this blog and my kitchen pictures. Was really nice to visit with these guys.

Monday was basically a calm day at work, our boss ordered pizza for everyone .. and I was able to stay away from the pizza. It helps that the pizza was in a temporary trailer (outside and around the corner from this building) that they bring in just for outages. I did not even see the pizza. I spend the majority of 12 hours in a cube that is 5 ft by 5 ft in a room that 1s 14 ft by 20 ft and has 2 more cubicles in it. Dang wish I had a camera lol. Not very impressive, actuially it is down right disgusting. I am just glad to have a cubicle, for about 3 years working over here I did not.

My Tuesday challenge has been tough, there has been a home baked carrot cake in the refrigerator all day. I am not secluded from the refrigerator, it is in the same room with me lol. Everyone has talked about how good it is and everytime I go to the refrigerator to get a diet coke it just stares me in the face... geeesh But I have been strong ... not even a itty bitty pinch.

Wednesday has been nothing special to write about other than I hear rumors of a chocolate pie and a pecan pie will arrive in a few days for some additional challenge. I think the guys are out to see if they can make me weak, lol. Outage is always a busy time, but the guys wives have extra time so they bake goodies for the workers seems. It does help having a lil something special going on from time to time. Entergy use to do bluebell ice cream all brands and all kinds of toppings for sundaes and banana splits, lol and I hope they don't this year... cause I just ain't that strong. Please don't tell these guys.... I bet some of the oldies remember my weakness is ice cream.

Thursday and Friday was busy busy at work and the pie's did arrive and looked good... but I was strong. On Friday Brooke arrived at the airport as planned. I look forward to seeing her. Pat will be in on Saturday as well. I have no pictures this week so I am gonna post a few OLD Easter photo's. Hope that I have more interesting stuff to write about next week.

Saturday and I will be off tomorrow. Our boss is buying lunch today. Finally something I can eat. He is having Goldies bbq brought in. I like Jim and Nicks in Jasper better but have to take what I can get. Next week I should have some pictures and a lil more going on besides work I hope. At least Pat, Brooke and Tanner will, lol.
