Retirement Life at the Lakehouse

I retired June 2009 and I have spent much more time at The Lakehouse. I have enjoyed each and every day and have not had a bored moment. I stay so busy doing things I want to do that I rarely find myself idle. I guess with the major remodeling complete there has not been as much to post. This is a new phase of life at The Lakehouse and maybe I can post retirement memories.

2nd Week of June.....continued

THURSDAY..

I got word on my way home from SIX FLags that Rando had cooked Boston Butts for BBQ while we were gone and would fix baked beans, cole slaw and bring to us at the lakehouse for lunch....HE IS MY HERO AND MY FAVORITE BRO IN LAW. There is no way to explain how much I appreciated that. So on Thursday we had a play day on the lake and lunch. Mom and Dad came to visit and we even got to see Josh and Hannah again.

The Food was GREAT!!!!!!

The company was BETTER!!!!!

Nice to play in the water all day.

The boys enjoyed some water play.

Late in the day we took a pontoon ride. We wanted Drew to see the cliffs and all to ride the jetski that could. The jet ski was fixed and Pat got it back on Tuesday, while I was traveling.

Brooke gets her 1st Jet ski ride of the summer.

We had a relaxing ride until the thunder and lightning started......We headed home a little too late andall felt the sting of the rain drops and were soaked when we got here... Chloe joined us later in the night after her swim meet so she will be here to start the early day with us tomorrow.

I think the contractor has a better understanding of why I need all the extra room he is adding on now. He has been working on the back deck and the basement entry this week as well as wiring the bedrooms.

FRIDAY......

The big plan for today was to take Drew to feed the fish. We left after breakfast to get an early start to get back before the afternoon thunder storms. We packed drinks and some snacks and off we go to see the fish. We pulled the tube with the jet ski and all the kids had a blast.

Chloe was a good watcher when it was not her turn to tube.

Kyle was the official tube puller.

Tyler went tubing too.

Those in the pontoon passsed the time on the trip by helping Papaw Pat drive or just by listening to tunes.

Tanner driving the pontoon.

Drew driving the pontoon.

On the return trip we stopped at an old favorite swim spot to swim and play a bit and reminise about times long ago (1975 -1978) when mom and Dad had the lake lot on Rock Creek.

After lunch we took a swim to the tunnel and just played in the lake. The water is really nice.

Chris and all his little ducklings swimming back from the tunnel.... no rocks were thrown and no blood was shed.

We did have the afternoon thunderstorm but we were all safe inside and dry. Tracy and Chris rented movies and we had an early night of movies and relaxing. Some got a lil too much sun today but I think they will survive.
