Retirement Life at the Lakehouse

I retired June 2009 and I have spent much more time at The Lakehouse. I have enjoyed each and every day and have not had a bored moment. I stay so busy doing things I want to do that I rarely find myself idle. I guess with the major remodeling complete there has not been as much to post. This is a new phase of life at The Lakehouse and maybe I can post retirement memories.

VACATION ENDS!!!!! Temporarily

We have had a great weekend here. Saturday we just kinda hung out at the lake and did a few things to get ready to go back to Mississippi for a few days. I had my final swim and floating in our swimming hole while admiring the accomplishments of the lakehouse.

Saturday afternoon we had Mom and Dad come up and bring a peanut butter cake that Chris had been looking forward to. Randy and Glenda came to meet Dustin and Jacy and we had an adult only pontoon ride. The teenagers stayed at the lakehouse and when we returned they all had a late evening swim and football fun. The girls were washing their hair in the lake while the guys played ball.

Notice the rock work on this landscaping. This is something I had not seen before on the lake. It is a water slide......I imagine it has a pool as well on the other side of that wall. There is a helicopter pad on the boat dock as well.

We have tried to get to Jim and Nicks to eat BBQ all week and it just has not worked out... so this was the last chance.... So we loaded up and went to eat about 8:30. The food was good but geeesh some of these kids don;t know how to appreciate BBQ. Tyler ordered a turkey club and Blake a burger plate. Kyle had a cool meal... the waitress spilled 3 drinks on him...I have never had such waitress attention thou. She was bringing us drinks faster than we could drink them for sure, lol. I think they all enjoyed the meal.

Sunday started with Chocolate and biscuits. Randy, Dustin and Jacy joined us. I think we have just about got Jacy initiated into the family. She passed the chocolate and biscuit test, however she did have a lil different technique on the preparation, lol. After we ate we went for the last pontoon ride and jet ski tubing. Jacy wanted to tube and I think Dustin was surprised that she would. We had a nice swim at the rock island before heading back to the lakehouse. The time had come that we all had to get packed up to head our different ways... WELL .....except for Chris ......who still has 2 days to stay at the lake before he has to be at work again.

Good times come to an end, but temporarily. I am back in Mississippi and getting ready for a 5 day work week where I have to do the yearly testing stuff...but no written test this time so it should be less stress. I will return to the lake on Friday as soon as the testing is complete. It will be interesting to see the progress on the house after being gone a week. When Chris leaves on Tuesday Susan will take over the house sitting until I get back. There are too many things that could be taken right now to leave it unattended. Hopefully by the time we leave after the 4th of July weekend we will have things where they can be locked up in the garage or bedroom area.
