Retirement Life at the Lakehouse

I retired June 2009 and I have spent much more time at The Lakehouse. I have enjoyed each and every day and have not had a bored moment. I stay so busy doing things I want to do that I rarely find myself idle. I guess with the major remodeling complete there has not been as much to post. This is a new phase of life at The Lakehouse and maybe I can post retirement memories.

Thursday/Friday, June 19th and 20th.

THURSDAY

I took my morning shopping trip and as I passed the farmers market I just had to stop and buy fresh veggies. I was successful in getting faucets and vanity's for the bathrooms. I also found the ceiling fans I have been looking for to use in the pavilion.

Chris came in the house with a puzzled look on his face then headed for the bathroom... I knew something was up but had no idea ... he came out with a lizard... apparently a lizard had gottin in his swim suit when drying on the deck and he had put it on. I guess I would have had a puzzled look tooo.

Chris and Brooke broke beans for me and after we all ate we headed out for the big event of the day. Kyle has been riding the jet ski pulling everyone on the tube and today he has decided he will let Blake or Tyler pull him on the tube. I think Kyle enjoyed it more than he expected.

We returned to the Rock Creek sandy beach that we have named Kawasaki beach due to the abandoned destroyed jet ski that is there. We should have brought a football....but we played anyway with Brooke's sandal that floats. This is truly a very nice swimming spot. Kyle and Tyler decided to just ride the jet ski home without a tube when everyone had their turn.

I cooked the fresh veggies for supper.....we had fresh green beans and new potatoes, fried squash and fried green tomatoes. There was grilled chicken too but the veggies was all I wanted. The kids mostly turned up their nose and made a sandwich.... geeesh they just don't know... but more for the rest of us.

After supper the Rigsby gang all sat on the deck and just enjoyed some chat time.

FRIDAY

Today took a lil different twist with Kyle getting up at 6 a.m. to go to work. I again took my morning shopping trip and guess what... today I get to pick up Tylers medicine I started trying to get on Monday. I had a productive trip to the building supply store while waiting on the pharmacy to open. I got the kitchen cabinet that will replace the washer and dryer ordered. I also got the shower door. I looked at the washer and dryers and could not decide so that will have to wait until another day.

I returned to cook pancakes that had been requested by Tyler. Chris and all the kids went for a swim and to check out the new nerf balls I had bought. Later in the day we all went to the lil cliffs just to hangout and jump/swim for a bit. Pat let Brooke drive the jet ski a lil in our slough when we returned... she will be old enough in September to get a license. I still need one more day to just float on a mat in our swim area... time is running out and I have so many things that I have not got done yet. Brooke is tanning out nicely and looking so grownup.

I did go to the furniture store just down the road that I have bought several pieces of furniture at last year and I found a great buy on a dresser that I have needed for the Cherry wood canopy bed ... I had planned to put this in a spare bedroom here but I guess I could use it for Brooke... guess we will just play that by ear for now. I also saw they have the dresser that matches my bedroom set I bout last year and did not get the dresser then, lol. Maybe I should now? I spotted a Leather Italia reclining loveseat and recliner sofa that matches the 2 sofa's I bought last year and ummmm Monday is my birthday.... and since I have to take Tracy her sofa's when we go home.......and I would need a sofa for the xbox room I could justify buying both... I figured this would put Pat over the edge since he is panicking over the money that has been spent on the house lately. He really did not say a word and saw all my justification.... I was kinda shocked....

The latest picture from the water. They are working hard to have more bathrooms before the 4Th of July Gathering.
