Retirement Life at the Lakehouse

I retired June 2009 and I have spent much more time at The Lakehouse. I have enjoyed each and every day and have not had a bored moment. I stay so busy doing things I want to do that I rarely find myself idle. I guess with the major remodeling complete there has not been as much to post. This is a new phase of life at The Lakehouse and maybe I can post retirement memories.

2004 HIGHLIGHTS

Its 2004 with lots in store for THE LAKEHOUSE GANG. We replaced the styrofoam under the boatdock and the swim dock with the better stuff to float our growing gang. We also refloored the swim pier. I managed to get a good deel on a jetski from Sam a guy at work that was leaving and moving North. Our 1st year of jetski life on the Lake. I know I cussed them for years and Dad may never forgive me, but surely we will not be a pest to US. We added what Pat calls the Lifegueard deck. Its really the best spot on the lot for watching the scenery go by and keeping an eye on the swimmers. The OLDRIVER GANG "KEESEE REUNION" at THE LAKEHOUSE for the 1st time. We had guest from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. OH! I had my 50TH BIRHDAY (can not wait til I have 55, talk about party time, wooo hoooo.)

Tanner had a blast with the spring visit and the old styrofoam.

Pat built flower beds at the end of the Big Deck.

This is the area where the Lifeguard Deck will be built.

The lifeguard deck is in place and looks like the shade is just right too.

Yes, We did get Dad on the jetski for one ride. He trust Pat, or maybe he remembers I kinda owe him a dunk or two.

These guys are waiting patiently for thier turn. Everyone had a chance to ride and play some. But as luck would have it, we had problems and the jetski had to be worked on some. It seems that most of the 1st summer the jetski stayed in the shop. Poor Chris, it seemed that everytime he got on it something broke. We had a bolt break , steering cable break, computer went out. By the time the Keesee Reunion was here we were just down to one and that was a borrowed one.

Collin visited this year and we got a chance to take him to feed the fish. Thats a trip everyone should make once, if at all possible. It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours by pontoon to go and feed fish and then return.

My 50TH birthday gang. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!!!.

Kyle, Cory, Carly, Blake and Brooke

The girls caught turtles while fishing and Pat painted them, the girls named them and then they had a TURTLE RACE. Does anyone remember the names?

Brooke and Tanner with thier catch.

***********************KEESEE REUNION*********************

THE KEESEE REUNION, SINCE WE CUT OUR PINE TREES WE HAVE GRASS AND NO SHADE.

KEESEE REUNION DAY and the weather was perfect. The water level was perfect. I wish the water would stay this level all year long.

This is the best year we have had for water level that I can ever remember.

Lots of visiting going on here.

Tim has the watermelon under control. I am not sure if that was Georgia watermellon but it sure was good.

Had just a small gathering for Labor Day!

Nice to see Eric and Andrew, what a treat.
