Retirement Life at the Lakehouse

I retired June 2009 and I have spent much more time at The Lakehouse. I have enjoyed each and every day and have not had a bored moment. I stay so busy doing things I want to do that I rarely find myself idle. I guess with the major remodeling complete there has not been as much to post. This is a new phase of life at The Lakehouse and maybe I can post retirement memories.

2002 HIGHLIGHTS

In 2002 we started the year with our 1st visit from Olivia. Wehad finished the roof and window project in the fall and have a new look for 2002. We cut the pine trees in early spring. Was a big job and they left all the limbs for us to clean. We had several new visitors this year. Blake alo was able to have his Birthday Party here. Christy had her 1st visit and Bud did too.The azaleas were really pretty this year.

This is Olivia's 1st visit to THE LAKEHOUSE.

Winter is kinda bare and not so interesting..
but have to have that to appreciate the color of spring.

The guys enjoyed the closeup look at the carp.
This is the kind of fish we go feed in the boat.

Azaleas are so pretty. I rarely get to see them.

Pine trees are cut and man what a view
and sunshine tooo. The trees provided much
more shade than we thought.

Just a nice picture, kinda gives you spring fever
and makes me miss the pine trees too.

I do not remember the occasion but Buddy
stopped to visit a few on his way to somewhere.

Notice the change in the house, looking good don't you think. Also notice the pine trees this is in the spring before we cut the trees. I really loved the pine trees .... but they were constant work and could not grow grass. I did not think they provided that much shade , lol but I was wrong.

This was definately a working summer . One last cleanup of all the pine tree limbs and brush. Chris and the kids all helped when they came to visit. They had to earn thier keep.

Brooke helped to clean the pine
tree limbs tooo.

We really appreciated the help.

Chris taking a break.

This is just a GREAT VIEW!!!!!

Take a look at the grey house and blue roof.

The green stuff growing is watermelon,
guess we ate too much here and the new
sunshine sure makes things grow.

After a summer of sun and watermelon
we had watermelon vines grow in our picnic area.

Mason and Blake enjoy some lake time.

Feeding the fish with all the crew.

Josh had success at getting on the jetski.

Time to get a snack and rest a few.

This is the old paddle boat we have borrowed
for years. There is just no way to sink this boat.

Marcia, Brody and Emily enjoy the cool water.

What better way to cool off anf clean up from the pine tree work than to take a swim.

It was not all work we had plenty of tme to pla. paddleboat races. I think Chloe and Seth were the winners.

Wonder if there is a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow.

I do get to relax and take a swim. Like I say if it din't get done by noon it just has to wait.

All the gang at Rock Creek Marina to feed the fish.

Muddy Buddies!!!!!!

Ali took a mud bath and at no cost to her.

Chloe looks like she is teaching the guys a thing or 2.

Christie's first visit to the lake and we all hope she enjoys it as much as we do.

Susan and Chris taking some chill time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLAKE!

Now this is a crew......Gosh..... I am not sure I can name them all. Josh, Hannah, Tayler, Blake, Nick, Kyle, Tyler, Jacob, Seth, Emily and Tanner.

Late summer and a whole new crew to see the fish.
