Retirement Life at the Lakehouse

I retired June 2009 and I have spent much more time at The Lakehouse. I have enjoyed each and every day and have not had a bored moment. I stay so busy doing things I want to do that I rarely find myself idle. I guess with the major remodeling complete there has not been as much to post. This is a new phase of life at The Lakehouse and maybe I can post retirement memories.

April is almost gone, already.

The week is gone and I have tried to get my Retirement papers filed all week and never did succeed. Monday I had no Supervisor and no one in my office to do work but me. Tuesday I had a boss but he was in meetings all day . Wednesday, no supervisor again and I had some assessment guy watching what I do all day but I did called my supervisors boss to get him to do it and no answer, so I left a message, never heard from him. Thursday, My goal today was the same and again I had this guy watching me, my supervisor of the day said he would but he thinks it has to be the one who signs my time sheet, which has been in training this week, so I called him and he does not know what to do but will do it if I can get to the training center as I head home. On my way out I see my higher supervisor that I had left a message, and asked if he got my message, explained what I needed AND GEEEESH, he asked me to wait until Monday. So now I get to chase bosses again next week.

I embroidered me a T-shirt to wear to work on Friday (casual day) to express myself, or maybe to get someones (boss) attention. Probably was not a smart thing to do, lol. I felt pretty safe since I can't find a boss on weekdays, I was sure an OFF Friday would be safe.

Some of my other projects for this week.

This weekend was kinda quiet but I enjoyed being home and getting some things done. I guess the biggest thing that happened this weekend was a surprise for Kyle. Chris had told the kids they were going to do something special on Sunday. They had no clue it meant get up early and leave home about 830. They did not know where they were going, but all got ready and went. They had been gone about an hour when I started getting text messages from Brooke, she was upset. She asked is Dad really going to put Kyle in the military, he said we were meeting Popa and Ina in Meridian and taking Kyle to the military. Of course I knew where they were going, but did not let on. She text me for about 45 minutes, I would ask her questions like " Where are you?" She said," We just passed Bass Pro Shop." Well, you are headed toward Meridian." I asked , "Is Kyle upset?" She said, "I don't know, but I am." She does love her big brother Kyle very much and has really gotten close to him this past year living here. I gave her no relief and finally she text me and said Dad is kidding, she had text him and asked, lol. He had text her back. I did not hear anything more until they got home. They had met Popa and Ina in Meridian to get Kyle's graduation present. Tiny (Popa) gave Kyle his truck. Kyle was thrilled, had no clue. He is so proud and excited. He has to wait until Tuesday to drive it to school, because Chris has to get the insurance and tag stuff taken care of on Monday.

The truck is a 1996 Dodge, but well taken care of, since Tiny drives a company truck to work. I think it has 108k miles on it which is less than anything else parked in our driveway, lol. I tried to borrow it for m=next weekend to move some stuff to Bama, but i got turned down, lol.

Pat is back in Bama and hopefully he will get things caught up at the lake and keep the contractor focused on getting finished, lol.
